Toblerone, a Swiss chocolate bar with a unique shape. The triangular shape of the chocolate bar was what caught my attention in the first place; being that I had to squat down to pick this chocolate up from the very bottom shelf at my local grocery store. I’ve heard and seen this brand multiple times from other chocolate fanatics, but never gave it a second thought until now…and boy I wish I would have sooner.
I had roughly ~6 different options to choose from, but the bright blue box seemed to be singing my name. Swiss Milk Chocolate with Salted Caramelized Almonds and Honey and Almond Nougat…yes please?
The aroma of the honey that escapes from the bar after you peel back the tinfoil exhilarates your taste-buds for what is to come.
Compared to most chocolate bars that incorporate almonds and sea salt, this was the first one to actually salt and caramelize the almonds. They didn’t skimp on them either.
The first bite was an explosion of flavor; you could distinctly taste the subtle notes of honey in the rich and creamy texture of the milk chocolate. The almonds were excellent. The crunch they provided was distinct; being caramelized gave them almost a brittle like texture, and the refreshing burst of salt accompanied them oh so well.
The nougat was also very prominent; not lost to the bigger pieces of almonds, providing yet another dimension and texture to the overall amazing chocolate bar. After I was through the first square, I couldn’t wait to go back for seconds (more like sixths).
Nutritionally, its your average chocolate bar break down; with the additional benefit of no trans-fats.

PURCHASE AGAIN: Yes. But I will be tasting and reviewing the rest of the line up from Toblerone prior.
